i just got an x10 keychain remote with rf transceiver kit and can't seem to find a way to set the address on the remote (seems to be channels 1 & 2 only. also the plug in rf tranceiver/lamp module seems to respond only from an rf device such as the key chain remote. my ir receiver module can't control it. shouldn't these be more versatile? my rf "anywhere" wall switch doesn't seem to have adjustable address either....someone tell if i can configure these things..i'd appreciate any kind of suggestion...thanks

Go to this page and download the manual for keychain remote. It has instructions on how to change the code (cut and paste this link): [Link: software.x10.com]. The IR receiver only receives signals from universal remote controls like MX500, MX700, etc...Hope others can add more.

There are two X10 transceiver modules produced my X-10, Module TM751 only responds to RF commands, while model RR501 will also respond to any powerline command. The TM751 is the smaller of the two. The RR501 has a slide switch that allows its internal relay controlled outlet to be assigned to unit code 1 or 9. Hope this helps.
