Hi,
I am trying to use my Pronto (RU890) to control Homeseer Media Player on my PC.
I want to be able to select genre and artist using the remote.
I have an IR 7243 to receive the IR and put it onto the mains to the CM11 at the PC end. The IR 7243 has a housecode selector wheel.
It seems the IR7243 only receives and decodes signals for the selected housecode.

I also have codegen application to generate IR codes.

My problem is that I need a lot of codes. Homeseer can handle virtual codes i.e. up to z99 but codegen cannot create those.

I also have some X10 CCFs which use individual codes i.e. 1 On etc.

Does anyone have any idea how I can handle these problems?
1. How to create IR codes for devices over number 16 and housecode o?
2. How to get the discrete X10 code received and understood by the IR7243?

Thanks
Jeff

One possible way to do what I want is to use a real X10 code (i.e. G1) and then send a value which would be the genre or artist I want Homeseer to play i.e. send G1 Blues.
How can I send an X10 value from the Pronto?
Anyone done that?

After some more digging around I have found that the IR7243 will accept all housecodes if set to Housecode P.

And Homeseer can dim a virtual device from any value from 0 to 100 (i.e. off to on).

So if I could send a value from the Pronto that would solve my problem. i.e. G1 Set 44. Homeseer would trigger the correct media player action based on the 'dim' value of the virtual device.

Using a CCF from this site I have worked out that I can use housecode B to O, unit code 1 to 16 and then 3 instructions, on, preset dim1 and preset dim2. that gives me 672 codes which is almost enough but the music collection is growing all the time.

How could I get the 'dim' value 44 into the IR sequence?

Or how can I create more preset dim codes? CodeGen (is it just for RF or does it also create IR codes?) does not seem to create those correctly - at least they don't seem to work.
