Which rocker switch would you prefer?
The PCS does not have backlighting when off or an indicator for the dim/bright level correct?

I, personally, like the look of the Switchlincs better. I think that both the PCS and the Switchlincs have similar feature sets. However, the PCS do allow you to change their sensitivity to the X10 signal, which I've heard helps their reliability.

I discarded my Switchlincs and replaced them with PCS. The PCS switches are programmable by computer. They are less prone to problems caused by noise, power surges, etc. I have about half a dozen PCS switches and have never had an issue with them. They work every time, they don't have false activity. They also have much smoother dimming rates than Switchlinc.
They have a red light on them for location in the dark, but no graph showing dimming level as the Switchlincs do. Since the room lights would be on, and consequently showing dimmed level, I wonder what the purpose of the graph is.
These have been my experiences, I know others have been quite happy with the Switchlincs.

Funny timing. I just had a momentary power drop-out from our famously inept power company in Omaha and my one remaining Switchlinc product (a Lamplinc) lost all it's programming including scenes. So, I spent the last half hour getting them back in. None of the PCS products hiccuped in the least.
One of the reasons I still have this last Lamplinc is that the PCS lamp dimmers are terribly expensive. About $150 vs. about $30 for the Lamplinc. PCS needs to get realistic on the pricing of their lamp dimmer. It's very good, but five times more good?

I just replaced 20 SwitchLincs because of the Big Power outage in the NE. The surges prior to the outage smoked every one of them. I did go with newer SwitchLincs ($1000) and pray it never happens again. If it does...bye bye SmartHome.

I've never used the Switchlinc wall switches but hear that their reliability has improved. The dim level indicator is a cool feature and they do support more scenes (64 vs 16) but I've never used all 16 scenes on one switch before so have never needed more.
My entire house is outfitted with PCS switches including five separate outdoor light circuits. My experiences with the PCS switches has been excellent. I've used the adjustable receive level a number of times to produce reliable operation when weak signal/noise problems were previously causing problems. PCS also has a five year warranty which is hard to beat.
I do have the LampLinc lamp modules and I just noticed yesterday that one has lost it's programming (it started responding to the default, A1, address). I've never had that happen with a PCS product.
Definitely pick one, or the other, and stick with it for the whole house. The consistant look and operation is, IMO, important.
