Short of reading both manuals, is the Homelinc controller comparable to the Ocelot or is an apples to oranges comparison?

Homelinc cannot compare to an Ocelot. The Ocelot is a fully programable computer that can learn 1024 IR commands, control (with a PSC05 interface) X10, and so much more! Look here for information on the Ocelot and its modules: [Link: homeautomationnet.com]
