I’m trying to write a macro. I have 5 units- all lights numbered A1-A2-A3-A4-A5. Now I’m trying to create a macro and calling it A6 but its not working. I KNOW it’s correct but I cant seem to get it to activate. So people are telling me that the macro needs to be called A1. Any help please?

Ken, You are not giving us enough information, what are you writing a macro for? If you send a1, a2 ...a5 you need to follow this with a command like aON. If you send A6 that's a unit code that’s doing nothing. Again we need a bit more background. Bill www.homeautomationnet.com

1. What type of equipment are you using? Macros can run on programable controllers or from many universal remotes. Some receivers support scenes which are similar to macros.
2. I'd recommend that you use a different housecode for macro/scene activation unless you have a complelling reason not to. If your primary addresses share a housecode with your scene and macro activation addresses you quickly run out of addresses and lose the ability to expand.
