Okay, I'm pretty X10 savy and have been working with it for about 10 months. Pretty much have the entire house wired connected now. So, it was time for a Pronto NG. Having read the owners manual and the review on Remote Central, I'm ready to start working with this. One feature I'd like is to be able to control my X10 switches and other modules with the Pronto. So, is the only thing I need an IR to X10 converter and the codes?? Here's the converter I was able to find from Smarthome. Has anyone used this?? Also, are the X10 codes in the database on the Pronto NG within PENG, or is there some other way to program them. I know the Pronto NG supports RF directly, but (i) I don't know if it can directly transmit X10 codes, and (ii) even if it can, I don't have remote receivers for all zones in the house, and would like have total access with the Pronto.

don't get the 4040 from smarthome it is way too expensive. Try the IR543 from homeautomationnet (good price, advertises on this site and he is in here helping people on his spare time).

Also if you have a lot of X10 stuff on different house codes, then the 4040 or the IR543 (same device) are not enough. You will need the modified IR543AH, it can send any house code, so you can send to all 256 addresses instead of just 16.

No you cannot use the Prontos RF except if you are in Europe and have a Pronto 950 or 970.

As for the codes, they are in the file section on this site. If not in the NG section, they are definitely in the Pronto section
