I am a newbie to x-10. I recently purchase some items from www.smarthome.com , these item include a maxi controller, and 4 lamp modules with scene control, and a 4040 IR converter. I have a pronto tsu3000 which I want to use to set macros, so that when I push the "watch a movie" button I want the lights to dim to a certain level. Now I am hearing that I need an x-10 remote to "teach" my pronto the codes. Is there any way around this? Does anyone have a ccf file with the codes that I could use. I can't see spending another $40 on a remote that I will use for 5 minutes, and then never pick up again, becuase I have the Pronto.

I have an X10 5in1 learning remote which you may borrow. Will that help?

There are plenty of ccf files in the files section of this site which include the codes you need. Look for ccfs supporting the IR543.
