did you have something to say?

I take it you don't know the difference between a linear and a non-linear load...otherwise i don't understatnd why you would link to that page.

I think what he was trying to say is "be careful you don't burn your house down 'cause you don't know what you're doing".
There is a HUGE difference between 120 volt INCANDESCENT lamps (which include screw-in, 120 volt halogen lamps like a PAR 20 or PAR 30), MAGNETIC Low-Voltage, and ELECTRONIC low-voltage. Most low-voltage track heads that mount on a 120 volt track and use an MR16 lamp have ELECTRONIC transformers integral to them. Most halogen or Xenon bi-pin "hockey puck" disc lights that come in a set of three are packaged with a separate ELECTRONIC transformer. MAGNETIC transformers are very heavy and can supply much higher wattages. An example of a magnetic transformer we be the ones that are used for low-voltage landscape lighting. If you want to dim a load you need to install the proper dimmer for the load to be dimmed.
Just because something works doesn't mean it's correct (or safe).

I have a RM-AV3000 and I am interested in using it to control x10 lighting. I currently only need to control 2 lamps with it, but would like room to expand and control more lights. What are the basic components I need for these two lamps? I want 2 Lampsinc modules correct? Do i also need some sort of base station?

Please help!

Thank you.
