I updated "The Basics of X-10" and made some changes the the original and added a few things. I had to post on 2 thread because it was so long but I posted the second half first and the first half second so I could link them. I hope this helps any newbies who are having problems or just a question.

I also would like to again say I am sorry to anyone I offended with the Click here to make $$$ as you surf!

This is not a pyrmid thing, you WILL get paid to surf the web! If might atleast be worth a peek! I kinda understand it is a conflict of interest with this site though and will not say anything else about it.

Please enjoy the new Basics of X-10

Chris,

Are you dense, or just Stupid? You were asked in a previous post to stop with the how to make $$$ crap, and yet you do it again! This is NOT the place for you to sell this type of stuff. Please, for the last time, take it somewhere else.

Everyone Else,

Chris is trying to make money off of you surfing the net. If you click on his link above, you will be signed up for him to make money as well. The link has his membership number, FUA-881, in it. If you want to look without signing up under Chris, click here, http://www.alladvantage.com This way you can sign up without Chris making any money.

A Serious and Another Serious,
I am not trying to SELL you anything! If I wanted to take advantage of this site and sell stuff, I would post the name of the company I work for all over like Robert from RCI Automation did in the past. I do sell most products that are spoken of here at this site but I have never ended a post with something like: I sell those, give me a call or placed the name of the company and phone number at the closing.

I don't know who pissed in your coffee but chill out! I have never seen you ask a question or post a answer with the name "A serious... and Another Serious..." If you have a problem, speak your mind and don't hide behind a fake name! I am a nice person and respect the views of everyone. I too have things I don't like but usually keep them to my self. I would understand your being upset if I busted in and said in big letters "Make cash now!" but I didn't! I simply places a small tag at the end of my post. In the post above, I copied and pasted without thinking it was linked.

I would be more than happy if someone signed up without using me as a reference. I was only trying to show people here, whom I know are on the Internet a lot, they can make some cash while surfing. TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THIS SITE WAS NEVER WHAT I INTENDED!

Mr. Couture,

I did NOT hide behind a fake name! My name is Carlos Daigle and I DO NOT want to visit sites where posts are embedded with links to money making schemes! As I stated before, I am here STRICTLY for the Q & A. Even this response is a waste of my time. I only responded because I did not want you or anyone else to think I would "hide" behind any ficticious name!

As for my coffee, YOU pissed in it!

I was not refering to you! I assumed your REAL name was Carlos. I did not think that "A Seroius and Another serious & devoted fan of this site" was a real name. As for the waste of your time, sorry if you thought I was refering to you, lets get back to the Q and A. I did respond to your post about the coupler. (LINK TO IT HERE)

Sorry about the Coffee!

At least Robert from RCI Automation's links have something to do with the material found on this site. Yours was just a blatant misuse of what this site was developed for. If you wanted to put a link to your company, DO IT. At least that material is related to this site and its content.

We are trying to avoid others doing crap like this. When new users come to this site and see this type of crap in the posts, we will start getting a lot of people doing it.

The use of HTML tags in the posts is a very useful thing for all of us and we want to keep it. If we abuse the privilege, Daniel will take it away. Did you ever hear the phrase, "One bad apple spoils the bunch". You're spoiling the bunch!!!

As far as the name goes, It doesn't matter who we are, Just that you get the point.

I get the point! Let's just all be friends here! I said I am sorry and said I will not do it anymore. Let it go!

I have been answering questions at this site for several months now and HOPE I have been a help to many. If you say this is not something you want to see, I will stop (As I have).

Let's forget about it and start fresh if you want. No hard feelings here so lets get back to the X-10 side of things! What's yor X-10 interest? Any ideas? Any questions?

I couldn't agree more! Chris is a good person to help us as he does. I do agree though, that we need to keep this forum "clean" of all personal advertising.

Thanks to EVERYONE for participating in this site! I've gained quite a bit of knowledge and have been able to solve many problems as a result of everyone's help!

I appreciate Chris' input and assistance as well! He is VERY knowledgeable. Thanks!

Sincerely,

Scott

Hey lets get back to the program here! Sorry Chris but I have to agree it should stop before it gets out of hand. I also appriciate your help.
I would like an answer to my question also

What I need is info on where to get a coupler/amplifier
1) best price (web site address)
2) model # etc. (Is ther different brands)
3) Specifics here would be good.
4) Is this somthing I can install myself with good basic wiring skills? If not will my electrician know what it is?

Thanks, Ralph-

Wow! Talk about an over-reaction! Serious and Another, Chris is a super whiz at the X-10 stuff and is the most consistant responder to most of the questions I see posted here. He doesn't get paid to help all of us with our trivial little X-10 questions. He does it out of a love of automation and out of good will. He includes a "make money" tag at the end of a message and people jump on him like he's some sort of criminal! I'm not kissin ass here, I just want to submit an idea: If a post bugs you or yellows your coffee, SCROLL PAST! Live and let live and stop with all the petty B.S. On behalf of the silent majority, Chris, thanks and sorry.

Thanks. I too thought it was an over reaction but hey, everyone is entitled to there own opinion. I could understand if I didn't ever answer a question or was just a passer by but I have been here for some time and plan to stay for a while. Also it was just a little link after a few replies to questions. Anyway, you won't see them anymore!

I don't get paid to help you guys and I never push the fact that I sell the stuff we all speak of (even if I did, I don't get paid commission). I do it because I have ideas and experiences with X-10. I have made many expensive mistakes in the past and have learned from them. I figure if I can keep someone from making those mistakes and tell them what I have learned, they can skip that part and start from there.

Thanks again,

Chris Couture
