I thought about the whole house units, expensive and only protect from surges which occur outside the house.

Since I only have to protect 2 electronic ballasts, I may go back to lamp timers for them, and plug the timers into the supressor.

Why not plug the supressors into a noise filter which is plugged into an X10 module?

I could plug the supressor into the module, but then I would need 2 supressors at 30 bux each, and the Panamax warranty would not be valid. I dont need the noise filter as no noise is being generated by either the ballasts or the supressor.

Thunderstorm season is almost over so I probably have another year to make up my mind :)
