I am using a 6 in 1 remote to train my universal remote. I seem to find references that the 6 in 1 can control all 16 devices but can not find any information on which keys on the remote control the units above 10.

Thanks
Steve

Try pressing 1 then 0 for ten, 1 then 1 for eleven and so on. If that doesn't work, try using the VCR buttons. My remote uses rewind = eleven, play = twelve, fast forward = thirteen and so on.

Hope this helps,

Hi Steve.

I posted the same question on March 01. i also tried to get an answer from X-10 tech support and they seem to be avoiding the question.

Then, quite some time later, I was told that the 6 in 1's could only transmit IR codes for numbers 1 to 10 (0) and that 11 to 16 were not supported. It had worked in some of the remotes with the VCR buttons but not all (sounds quite ridiculous).

See my post on 03/01/2001: Topic: Module #s 11 to 16 with X-10 6-in-1 in IR Mode?

If you ever find a solution, please let me know.

The X-10 brand 6 in 1 remote cannot control unit codes 11-16 via the IR543, although it can through RF via an RR501 or TM751. If you just have to have unit codes 11-16 control via IR, then your cheapest alternative is to get hold of a "One For All" remote. Most of them have the unit codes 11-16 mapped to the VCR transport keys. From there, it's a simple matter to teach your learning remote, the 11-16 unit codes.
