Does anyone know a low cost way of transferring signals from a Bang & Olufsen remote control into X10 signals. So far I haven't been able to find an IR receiver, that will convert the signals sent from B&O light control signals into X10 signals.

You may try the Ocelot. It can accept any IR signals and use them to control whatever you want. Check it out at www.smarthome.com

I'm attempting to control both X-10 and non-B&O kit with a BEO4 remote - check out [Link: remotecentral.com.]

I'm planning to use the Ocelot as suggested, but as the BEORemotes use 455Khz IR, I'm getting a Xantech MS455/780-455 combo to downconvert the 455Khz to 40Khz (which the Ocelot can process)

Nigel,
I am impressed... you have done your homework!
The Ocelot cannot directly receive the 455KHz signal, the Xantech converter is the correct approach.
We shipped an order of Ocelots to Smarthome last week, they should still have stock.
We just released the new CD this week, so you will need to go to the web for the most recent manuals and code revisions... www.appdig.com

Well.... it sort of works....

It is very slow to recognise the codes (in the order of half a second) plus it isn't reliable. After many attempts to get the learned code to match subsequent presses (what I mean is that the Ocelot accepted a keypress and 'learned' it but it didn't match the same key pressed with the programme running)- I'm getting about 50% recognition right now.

I've tried all the recommended methods by Xantech (used their programming emitter with amplified output for learning, different distances from the receiver and different duration of keypresses) and still it is problematic. I found that switching the recording frequency to 42Khz instead of 38Kz helped (but then I can't be too sure - does this parameter do anything?)

Any help you can suggest? A IR editor would be very useful!

Once I can get this working (I really hope I can!), I plan to send the info to B&O and let their dealers know that they can add support for non-B&O kit.
