remember the T2 software had a macro feature of press and hold/double button press where you could add a second command?

for example you could press a button once to switch to a source and then continue to hold it or press it again to switch audio

the software for the T2+/T3 does not give this option but I think you can import it from the old software?

I deleted all my old T2 software and now have an application where I need this feature: any ideas???

btw: Happy New Year!!

The option is still there, if you are using a RP6/1 the button must be set to standalone for it to be available.

Thank you

I set the IR command to standalone, and now see the 'button test' available in the macro

but I want everything to come from the RP-6:no stand alone IR

how do I do that?

Can you create system macros for the functions you want? and then use the button test.

maybe: I did a quick test:

I put in a stand alone IR command just to get to the button test macro:

then I deleted the IR command: the macro was still there

I have to look at this but it may work

having a stand alone IR command and a system macro is problematic: I avoid it if I can

Thanks all for the info

What kind of problems have you had? I've done a few of those (did one today) and I haven't seen any issues.

works fine......you need to select a system macro from the drop list.

ie. On the remote, select macro tool>select a button on remote>add a "button test">

press and hold (1second)

Panasonic Plasma: Power OFF (this is from IR library)
SYSTEM MACRO: Go to DSS (this is a macro created in the RP6)
_______________________
Panasonic Plasma: Power ON (this is from IR library)
SYSTEM MACRO: Go to System OFF (this is a macro created in the RP6)

The remote will transmit an IR command for panasonic ON/OFF and activate the macro created in the RP6.

I have tried to combine two functions:

Lexicon MC-12 Vol up/down 1 db steps via RP-6 IR
Sharp LC-45 LCD Vol up/down via IR either direct (standalone) or from RP-6

it seems I cannot get both to operate smoothly for a volume change: it works fine just doing one or the other separately and I have tried various combos of system macros and different number of repeats et al

It looks like it can only do one at a time: so when holding down volume, the MC-12 responds fine, but the Sharp volume operates sporatically, or the other way around

Me Again: Thank you: I finally got it!

I added a standalone IR command to get to a button test macro then added system macros on the RP-6: then I was able to delete the IR command and it works great

Thanks to all!

Did you actually get the pre/pro and the LCD volumes to go up and down IN SYNC?! I've thought of doing similar things... but never thought that I'd get two items to track volume changes at the same rate (consistently).
...couple a thumb tacks and a stick of double sided tape should hold this baby up...

No: what I got to work was some button test functions that I needed

I will try the volume tracking again using some different approaches and let you know if it works

you shouldn't have to accually put an ir command in the macro after you change the button to stand alone. all you have to do is creat system macros with one command, or more than one if needed, then just put the button test in the macro section of the stand alone button. and then put the system macros in where needed on the button test areas, and shazzam! it works!
