Can anyone tell me exactly how to connect the VPS-1, cm-232, or vps-1, do I connect it to the wall plug?

the CM-232 is the serial communications cable assembly: one end plugs into the RP-6 and the other end to the serial (RS232) port of the component you want to control

the VPS-1 senses voltage (up to 30 volts) from component to give power on or off status: there is a cable that plugs into the RP-6, and another cable for the voltage connection (for example a trigger output): the VPS-1 is powered from the RP-6 and does not require any other connection

each of these come with detailed instructions

Remember you might need a null modem adaptor between your Receiver and the CM232...depends on the Receiver.
