If anyone knows how to do the following, please let me know:

I would like to use one RP-6 with IR routing and two separate T2+ remotes. One remote will operate in the master bedroom and the other for a family room. All the equipment is centrally located in a hallway closet.

I have the following equipment which is all located in the equipment rack:
Denon AVR-686 (master bedroom receiver)
Denon AVR-786 (family room receiver)
Denon DVD-556 (master bedroom DVD)
Denon DVD-556 (family room DVD)
JVC XLFZ258 (CD Changer connected to both rooms)
Motorola DCT-6200 (master bedroom cable box)
Motorola DCT-6412 (family room cable box)

There is a 42" Philips plasma in the master bedroom.
There is a 50" Philips plasma in the family room.

The T2+ in each room will operate its plasma TV via IR and the rest of the equipment should operate via RF to the RP-6. On the RP-6, I must use IR routing since each room has duplicate equipment (and thus duplicate IR operation).

How do I program this in Theatertouch 4?
Also, I cannot locate any of the black & white icons in Theatertouch 4? Can someone please help me locate them?

Thanks in advance,
Cat42

I did a similar setup in a restaraunt,

I had 3 tvs, 3 sat receivers, 2 audio receivers and 1 dvd

What you will want to do is double up a few IR ports, Sat the Family Receiver and DVD on port 1, Family cable box on 2 CD on 3, then Put the bedroom receiver and dvd on 4, Cable on 5.

When you set up the IR routing run the family room commands to only the ports needed..1,2,3 and bedroom to ports 4,5. Label the remotes as Family and bedroom
program the rest as usual

If you need some help send me your file so far and I will give it a look over

The buttons should be under the bitmap tab, if not you kmight need to download them

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually started the setuip exactly how you suggested. I still have another challenge -

Each room has its own plasma display which I am planning to control via direct IR from the remote. However, do you know how to configue the macros. If so, please help with this example -

User chooses "Watch TV" button from main page.
Power on receiver via RP-6 on port 1.
Power on TV via local IR from T2+.
Set receiver to "TV" input.
Change T2+ page to "Cable".

Note: The plasma will only be used as a display device using one input. The only required controls are "Power on" and "Power off" via IR direct from T2+.

Is the above scenareo possible or do you suggest I run another IR flasher to the plasma via CAT5?

Thanks again for the help.

You can and it will help if the remote is pointed away for a few seconds..or someone walks in front of it, not nessasary. Just right click the button and configure it as a standalone button or IR command.

I wouls add in the plasma input select on the power off command or power on just to make sure it gets there everytime

>User chooses "Watch TV" button from main page.
>Power on receiver via RP-6 on port 1.
>Power on TV via local IR from T2+.
>Set receiver to "TV" input.
>Change T2+ page to "Cable".

I would power up the receiver first then TV, then select tv on reciever then tv input and flip to cable page

you could also set up some system macros on the RP6 to handle the room on and off sequences

Depends on how you're doing it.

If your building the macros into the RP6 (which is the way I would suggest) then just add the IR command into the macro on the T2+. It will automatically be sent as IR directly from the remote. The RP6 will handle the rest.

Any macro that you need to have ir both from the remote and from the rp6 will have to be system macros, then set the button for that macro as "standalone" and call to the system macro inside of the button macro. kind of a screwed up way of doing it but it does work, i just finished a project that had 5 t2+ we had eight rooms with eight sources all routed with an autopatch matrix. ended it with around 120 system macros
64 just for switching( i wish RTI had variables). I also had a russound ST@XM that i controlled with RS-232 so i made all the buttons for the two tuners call to system macros so when i had to troubleshoot the rs-232 ( i hate checksums) i only had to change the command once and it propagated out to all the remotes with out having to redo all the remotes buttons.
Best of luck

Another way of handling systems like this, which I highly recommend whenever possible:

Use 2 RP6 units. One for zone 1. One for zone 2.

Only plug the receiver and DVD for zone 1 into the zone 1 RP6.
Only plug the receiver and DVD for zone 2 into the zone 2 RP6.

You can use EITHER RP6 to control shared sources.

Put an antenna in EACH room, connected to the correspoding RP6.
Connect the two RP6 units together (IR data and Ground, in parallel with the two antennas.)

Make sure all equipment is named, and in the same Project in TTD 4.0

Now, either remote can talk to any and all equipment. You'll need to be careful to ensure that each button on each page is talking to the correct RP6...

But, it works great.... and I would argue that it is cheaper to use an extra RP6 and keep the programming simple, than to use one RP6 and have to write a technical masterpiece.

I've done it both ways, including writing a set of system macros for a "template" RP-6 which used over 400 macros. I could set flags in some "Iniitialization macros" which then determined how the rest of the system would work. The program worked great and was very flexible... BUT, I had to document ALL of the flags and what they were used for....
I agree that it would be awesome if the flags could be named (variables).. which would make troubleshooting much easier at a later date.
...couple a thumb tacks and a stick of double sided tape should hold this baby up...
