Good day,

Could someone let me know how to turn the RS-232 port on, on the Pioneer Elite 56txi? Also, does anyone have an example of a command that I should send to the receiver? I have the Pioneer Elite 56txi RS-232 command document, but it doesn't tell me how to enable the port on the Receiver and also, I just want to make sure that the command format I am sending is correct.

Thanks,

Brian
Thanks, and have a great day!

Try this:
From Standby

Press Menu

Press Power

Change the Baud rate to 9600-232c with Left and Right arrows

Press Menu to exit

It works this way for the Elite-920HD. I don't know anything about the protocol.
I'm always right. The only time I was wrong was the time that I thought, that I was wrong.

Thanks for the info.

Tried pressing then on the remote, but I didn't get any option to set the baud rate. I also tried + at the same time, but nothing happened.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks, and have a great day!

Doesn't pioneer state that the baud is set at 9600?

Well, thanks for the all the help. My problem being a "NEWBIE" was lack of an antenna. Now that I have it installed, everything is working great.

For anyone else interested in connnecting to a Pioneer Elite Receiver, you need a null modem cable and not just a female to female adapter.

Once the null modem cable was installed, the system is working great.
Thanks, and have a great day!
