Hello,
We just got our first T3 in the other day, and I am just opening it now. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised to see the quality of the screen and the default skin. I read on another thread that the Guiwerx guys were behind this file which is an adaptation of a CT-1000 skin. Great job guys!!

That stupid pic of the remote on the RTI site shows channel logos in white frames and it almost looks like it was going to be a colorized version of the T2+... Thanks God my impression was wrong!!

It's actually a high-res display that looks like the color Pronto or the MX-3000.

Has anyone tried animated .gifs or anything advanced on this remote??
Specifically I have always thought that these type of graphics...

...would be a great to throw in while a startup, "watch TV" or "watch movie" macro was executing.

I saw it in an MX-3000 file at a training, but I have never used that remote.

I am assuming that these types of files probably exist somewhere around here in the correct format for these remotes and scaled to fit these screens.

OK, I started programming tonight and I saw a way to import new image files, including .gif files.

All of the .gifs I have are static images, including attempts to capture animated gifs from the web.

I guess I don't know enough about animated gifs to try this.

How do I capture an animated gif?
Can I assmemble my own static gifs into an animated gif file?

and lastly, does anyone just have a small animated gif they would be willing to send me for testing?
(if so, my e-mail is in my profile)

Sorry guys... I've done a couple of the T3's but I haven't had the time to sit down a play with the super cool bells a whistles. I'm hoping to acquire one for my personal use, then I might be motivated to REALLY get into it.

Well, I was searching for an answer to this question, came across this forum, found this thread, and here I am posting. Name is Mark, run a small CE design/install company in LA. And I'm sitting here trying to do animation on my new RTI (new venture, was stuck on URC for a minute, then a little MRF 250 and a TIVO made me late for late for a hot date, so I'm telling URC to go pound sand). For 2 grand, this guy is going to get animation. Can anyone enlighten me?

Well, I just put an animated GIF in as a page background, but emulator doesn't show it animated. However, that doesn't necessarily mean anything as I don't always trust the emulators fully. Unfortunately, I don't have any T3s to try it on though.

Anybody had animated GIFs work yet??

This is disconcerting...

There really isn't a viable technical reason it should reject animated .gifs

I think a call to Matt at RTI would give you your answer, and it would put a bug in his ear if this is a current shortcoming. He's been extremely helpful to me so far. The number is on the RTI website, installer section.

This really sucks. I just tried an animated gif as well with no luck. Will contact RTI and see if they have this pegged for a future upgrade. Given the prices of these remotes, I would think animated gif support should be a given.
Thanks, and have a great day!

Talked to Matt..... no animation supported right now, except through pageflips. They plan to add it in the next few months.

Good to hear, because I called tech support and talked to someone (not matt) who said essentially "No way; never - it would need a web browser to read animated gifs."
