So... I would love to hear any ideas on all or part of this... please...
Whenever any ATON DLA IR code is issued (codes from the .ccf from ATON) the RP6 locks up. The status light stays green, the high out port stays lit (the ATON codes are routed on the high out port to a connecting block) and all RP6 functions are locked up.
I disconnected the DLA from the IR connecting block and pulled the 12v power supply from the IR block but still had the same issues so it seems to be an issue on the processor. The ATON controls worked well on the bench using the same codes.
Here are the particulars and a list of other issues...
RP6 High out feeds Niles IR block to hard wire terminal on the ATON DLA, Direct IR (mono plug) in on Denon 2308CI and an emitter for the TV. The high out is run from the processor to the block via approximately 80 feet of CAT5 into another room. The kicker is that due to a skimpy prewire (I lost the original job to the original owner to a cheap bid) I had to use this one CAT5 to send analog audio (on a Niles Balun) to the remote location on 1,2,3 and 6, the signal back from a local RM433 on 4, the high out to the same remote location on 5, ground on 7 and voltage for the RM 433 on 8. Despite the potential issues with this, it worked well on the bench and seems to work fine in the installed environment, however, I do have some other mysteries...
All functions on the Denon receiver work fabulously except Power On. I am using all clean codes that I have used numerous times. The routing is good. One thought I had is that there may be some latency over the long run with shared signals so I may try ramping the repeats on the power on code or try inserting delays between codes in the macro. My thinking is that consecutive codes in the macro may be masking eachother due to any latency.
The Mitsubishi TV (I know... not my choice... but there are discretes) Power Codes for the same room (off of the IR block) do not work. Input commands do work. I have tried them all via standalone and they work fine. My next step is to try them as button commands to see if they work outside of the macros in light of my latency concerns. These are not cleanly generated... from the library...
Everything in the head end rack works well. It is just this remote room that is a pain.
Worst case... my whacked wiring solution causes issues with some codes and not others... but that does not solve the ATON code issues.
