I think is looks so much better then the t2+. all of the
other products they are releasing look pretty awesome
to. hope they focus on making the xp8 two way before they
do all of this though. these will make them have a very
complete lineup.

I agree. I like the look much better than the T2+ and I like the the entire family is goinf to have a consistent look. My question is... in this day and age when every joe schmoe has been to Best Buy and seen 3 different Harmony remotes with color screens is there really a market anymore for a B/W?

I really don't like it. I can't believe they "M2d" the
T2+.... I was never a huge fan of the T2+, so this just
makes it a complete travesty. Really , with bugs all
over the place and bigger and better out there why do
this? Come out with a T3 with more hard buttons. Come
out with some other types of modules....This ....WHY?

When I saw it I felt the same as you did Vbova27 but after looking at it a little closer I realized that all the things I hated about the M2 (no touch screen, no charger and disliked the hard button layout) and T2+ (disliked the hard button layout) had been fixed with the T2B.

I am really in no mood for innovation. I have a XP-8
coming today and I am not even remotely psyched about
it due to all the problems or potential bugs. I ordered
it awhile ago and forgot all about it. I WAS going to
replace the processor here with it, but now I think it's
going to stay in the box until everything seems okay.

You might change your mind once you use it. The pros out weigh the cons for me and now I know most of the little quirks it doesn't bug me as much. I'm sure a lot of them will be fixed with a firmware upgrade.

Price conscious consumers. That's it. They do exist.

^^exactly. right now i sell a lot of t2cs and in gyms bedrooms or other places where ppl want to size down i do an m2.

I only use the t3 and t4 for bigger systems or when i know the customer doesnt mind the extra money.

This remote would be a good step between the m2 and t2c. i never felt like the m2 had that same custom feel as the other remotes. i understand they did what they could to keep it at a good price but i'd rather try to get customers to spend the extra on this since it just looks more professional. mainly b/c of the charging cradle, as dumb as that may sound.

Couldn't agree more. I have an M2 in my office (big mistake) and the experience, although as limited as it is - is just unbearable. It's very hard to see the logo/writing because it blends in with the screen. It just feels cheap.

How can I sell this to a customer who goes to best buy , picks up a harmony or some other junk that is "fancy" and asks me why I didn't sell him that instead. The ONLY thing I like about it is that I can bring it on the field and test / troubleshoot with it without much tlc.

I like it, the T2+ is getting old. My main remote I integrate is the T2+, and I like the layout of M2, the only drawback is the f'ing batteries and hard to read LCD.

On another topic, ethernet ports on processors, I can understand remote-site programming but if you need to update all the hand-held devices so they are all in sync then what's the point? Yes I know that we will be able to do IP controllable devices(hopefully soon) with either the new XP-8 or the new RP-6.

I like it! We do mostly T2C's, but have a lot of customers out there with T2+ setups. I like to think that all of my customers will buy a T2C, but we have some customers that just won't spend the money. The M2 was a mistake from the begining... stupid batteries.

Has anyone heard an MSRP on the T2B?

Even though ip download of an rp6 isnt the most valuable feature, I have definitely worked in cabinets that just are annoying to get to the rp6 for every change. Also this is about future proofing. when more devices go 2way and ethernet capable we'd all be asking why this wasn't.

I think its a good add. and all the other extra features will be great as long as the price is still in the same range, unless they also keep the present rp6 in addition to the zrp6....??

Is the T2-B just a black and white T2-C?

This is the second instance where info we should have is not in the dealer section. Hey, they're getting better -- last time it was on the consumer side but not on the dealer side.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I'd really like to hear a reply to the question of whether the cost of the RTI T2B (or other RTI remotes) can be justified to customers in the Logitech Harmony era? If so, how do you explain what makes the RTI worth the significantly greater cost?

If we are talking RF than you need to understand how Harmony RF works and RTI RF works. Harmony will spit out seperate RF commands that gets converted into seperate IR commands. So if one of those RF commands were missed so would the IR command. RTI uses a single RF trigger code so if the processor gets it than it will execute all subsequent IR commands. Reliablitiy!

Harmony is setup on toggle power commands and uses flags for everything. So if someone goes up to the receiver and presses the power button shutting the TV off and you grab the Harmony, press watch TV, it won't turn back on. You'll have to use the help feature. With RTI you setup the remote so every time the receiver turns on, the TV turns on, and so forth (based on equipment with discrete commands). So ultimately there is no need for a stupid help button which by the way you have to get up from your comfortable chair and open the cabinet door to visually see what's on or off.

Harmony's are junk. At some point the buttons will fall off. The are very cheap and will fall apart much quicker than a RTI remote. The only issue with RTI is there battery life but if you keep an extra battery around you shouldn't have an issues.

The web based programming isn't as flexible as RTI. Trying to control a zone 2 with Harmony is a nightmare!

RTI remotes can be apart of a system. The remotes are a control solution and not individual TV remotes.

RTI remotes are much more friendly to guests and babysitters. A guest won't know how to use the help feature on the Harmony if something goes wrong making the person much more frustrated and less likely to use it.

I equate it cars. There are many different cars and they can all get you from point A to point B. Hyundai's will get you where you want to go but you may need to fix things more often and they might break down sooner but they do the job. Consider RTI like a 3 or 5 series BMW. It's going to outperform the Hyundai in every catergory but in the end it will do the same thing. If you are comfortable driving a Hyundai then buy a Harmony and you'll be happy.

To sum it up, Harmony Sucks!
