This week we received our first XP-8 and have used it to replace the RP-6 in our demo system. So far I've been running in to some strange issues and I wanted to see if anyone has experienced anything similar. The main controller is a T4.

Issue 1:
We have a projector and a plasma that we can switch between for the display. I have a page of sources for each which are essentially identical macros with a different page flip at the end. When the macro ran for the appleTV through the plasma macro, it worked fine. When it was sent through the projector macro (identical except for the page flip at the end) it would issue the command for the source on the pre-amp (a lexicon mc-8) and it would switch to that source for a moment, then it would seemingly issue one other random command. For a while it was just immediately switching it to another source, then when I power cycled everything it began turning the pre-amp off as soon as the source switched.

I ended up copying and pasting the button from the plasma sources to the projector sources, then changed the page flip. Now it's working, but I would like to know if anyone has any theories on it.

Issue 2:
Some of the IR commands were intermittent at best (however, most were still working very well). At worst (the blu-ray player in particular, bdp-s300) they weren't working any more than about 5% of the time. I noticed if I moved around the room a little I could get some better response depending on where I was standing. Then I took the RM-433 off of the ceiling joist and laid it on the drop ceiling. All of the commands started working very well.

Should I add another RM-433 to the system, or is this perhaps not even related to the wireless signal?

Issue 3:
I get a call when I'm at another job an hour or so later, and now the system is not switching to the PS3's input on the pre-amp from the projector sources. I pull out my laptop and check the macro, and the programming definitely has the system macro in there for the switch - the same system macro that is working in the macro from the plasma sources.

I checked to make sure I didn't do something like miss switching something to standalone, and everything seemed fine. I haven't had a chance to get back and troubleshoot this issued yet, but I'm assuming it's going to be a fix like Issue 1.

So... sorry for the rant, just wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks

Something I am learning the hard way is that the editor has some odd quirks.

I have 2 RP6s in the system I am working now. Editor tells me that the code is going out Port 1 of RP6 Beta (2). Everything in the editor is set right about this. From output tab to output port. I press the button and SURE AS $HI+ it comes out port one of RP6 Alpha (1). I try all sorts of things to fix it... but what it takes.

Delete the code and then set the properties and then the output port... then put the actually command back in there. Then it works.

I'm also using a T4 with a XP8 and I find that the range is worse then it would be with a T2C or T3. Not sure why this is but this isn't the first time I've experienced it. I just played with the position of the RM433 and added another one....it seemed to take care of it.
Did you also try turning up the IR ports? Or is the RM433 just not receiving a signal at all?

I also think it's about time the T4 came with "N" or at LEAST "G" wireless. "B" is dead slow!!!
