This might be a dumb question, but just want to make sure I am not missing something.

Does anyone see a problem using both in the same system?

I am designing a whole house audio/video system and need more than 8 IR routing ports. I am hoping to be able to use the RP6 to control the last couple tv's and wanted to make sure you can link them similarly to multiple rp6's.

Thanks

I have an XP8 and an RP6 together in a demo system at our store. By linking are you referring to sharing the RM433 (signal and ground connected between them all) which I assume you mean, or by using the expansion port? XP8 and RP6 I have are part of one system file (actually XP8, 2-RP6, and an RP1). THe XP8 and RP6 each have their own RM433 at this point; for no other reason than I already had it connected to the XP8 when I temporarily rigged it up in the system with the RP6. If I have a chance tomorrow, I'll connect the single antenna to both and let you know if I see any problems.

Yes, just linking the signal and ground using the same RM433's (3) throughout the house. The only reason I need the rp6 is that I need 3 extra assignable ports. Most TV's in the house are Samsung. The only macros on the rp6 will be 3 tv's Power On and Input macros.

Thanks

By the way, took a look at your file you sent me. Thanks. Haven't had a chance to fully grasp everything you have going on, but great work. I am hoping to dive in more next weekend.

Ah, I had no idea who I had sent it to, I didn't think I saw a forum name in the e-mail. Let me know if you have any questions on it, or anything you think I might be able to improve.
