Or make some kind of crazy F to RJ45 connector and use 2 RG6s (3 conductors) to pass the 232 signal.
From Clint at RTI: the CM-232 is a smart cable, there is circuitry in there and it cannot be extended before the DB9 connector. After the DB9 connector on the CM-232, any way you can get the 3 wires over to your location is okay as long as your pin outs are good.
EDIT
I say F to RJ45 assuming that you are using a standard RJ45 to DB9 at the far end.
Anyway you could connect the conductors of the RG6 to the pins of the 232 input on your device would do.
