The new software is awesome! only thing i want to do and maybe i just missed how to do it.

I want to take a trigger in from my alarm panel and run some macros on the xp8, no problem. But i also want it to send a trigger code to my rp6. If i have a cat5 between the two you'd think i could hook the ir out of the xp8 to the signal in of the rp6 and do this...

If its wired that way could i just send the ir codes and they pass through the rp6? It doesnt look like i can send a macro trigger code though.

I still don't see how you replace an RP-6 with an XP-8???

How do you move the system macros?

device >> convert to>> XP-8

Not sure if it is active yet, but it looks the same as switching from an RP-1 to an RP-6

The search window for icons is great......although it would seem that alot of the wallpapers have been installed in 6.0 as buttons (they can't be overlayed with other buttons).

Where are the files for the new 6.0 wallpappers stored. I can't find them. I think we just need to add the "^#BGCENTER" to the end of the wallpaper name to make it a true background.

I agree with adding the ^#BGCENTER; but the wallpapers and graphics are embedded in ID 6.0 and can't be exported or altered.

Hey, I'm not a real computer guy...but I grabbed the new 6.0 bitmaps "folder" and pasted in into 5.1 (removing the old folder) first thing this morning just for kicks...and it works in 5.1. Of course the wall papers still acted like buttons!

Have to say that despite the bugs and the stuff we dream up about all the time I am happy with this version of the software. It seems that the small changes made in the software really bring it forward. Obviously this is going to be a slow process to get where we want to be, but I think this is a pretty big step in that direction. I have already started adding codes to the RS232 library. Will there be a Mega RS-232?

Besides the Serial codes, I like the test IR code in the IR library feature, the macro timer and the auto port address feature. The old upload to the web feature crashes the program on my system.

See peter I told you the XP-8 would not be available untill the middle of February, and gee, guess what, its suposed arrive at AVAD out here middle of next week. Peters a really great guy over there at RTI, but I just have to flick boogers on his windsheild sometimes.
