Checked out your site. Not bad....

Disappointed in $299 for the Pronto 1000.

Make the RTI T2 $500 and you have a deal...

RTI would cut off my supply if I did that, and with their new reduced network of only 12 distributors in the US, they would have an easy time of it. Check out my package deal on the T2 and a IRF-6 for $799, this gets you darn close to $500 on the T2 if you look at the other guys price on the IRF-6.

If you buy today I can honer my web site prices but RTI just came down on the net dealers. Tomorrow they will be $649 as will all other dealers who want to have supply. So if your on the fence you need to get off it right now.

Bill Thanks for the notice, but can't swing the extra $$$/ Probably opt for the Pronto.

By the way it sounds like RTI is using some heavy handed tactics on net retailers. I think it is illegal to tell retailers what price they can charge...that is why it is called "Suggested retail price"

I am discussing this with RTI. They can legally tell the distributor to only sell to authorized dealers and make selling at list price a part of authorization. They will probably loose some net sales but this remote is getting more popular with installers all the time so I am sure they will come out fine. I can and will comply, but feel strongly that people that can program their own remote and do not get much of the value added services of a custom installer deserve a price break.

My other argument is some retailers package this remote with a lot of other stuff (including me) which they can then hide the real price of the T2. This is a game that makes it very hard to verify compliance with price rules. The people at RTI are great guys and they have always been willing to listen to my arguments, especially about being fair to their customers and dealers. Stay tuned it aint over yet!

Ultimately supply and demand will adjust the price. As soon as someone comes out with a competitive model, they will be forced to lower price. Until then, we poor souls will spend our hard earned $$$ on other less spiffy but still capable models !

Hey, that’s how the world works. RCA had the only DSS dish for the first year and they were going for $800 to a grand each not installed and now you can get two receivers for a hundred bucks with free installation.
