Do none of them work, even manually? Also, you do have an IR543, right?

theses rti remotes are kinda tricky ir learners...sometimes light sensitive cover with a magazine and make sure the sending remote has fresh batteries that is very important...or it might be something completely different...is it saying it's learning it?

Hi,

Yes it said it learned all the button commands except the numbers. I used the same position to program other remote codes into it and it worked. I even downloaded one of the x10 files and placed it on there, but that didn't work either. Any other ideas?

Thanks
Ron

Why don't you use one of the X-10 libraries?

I have a Lex 700t (without the RF option)and it works fine with x10. As noted above, you need an IR543. I used the x10 commands from the command library without problems.

Thanks again for your comments. I, being very new to this don't know what a IR 743 is. Can You enlighten me? I tried using the codes in the library, but they don't work for me either. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. First I assigned the # codes to each number, then the on/off and bright/dim buttons. It doesn't seem like the number buttons work though. Usually with all other codes the buttons are visually seen when pressed. My numbers don't do anything when I press them. That makes me think the remotes not getting the codes for the numbers. Just my opinion. If you can tekll me what the IR543 is I'd really appreciate it.

The IR543 is a device manufactured by X10 that sends out a X10 signal in response to a IR commands, they run about $20 and are limited to 5 unit codes (1-5 or 5-10) and one house code (a-p).

Over on the X10 chat I have been telling folks about a new device I discovered that can send out any X10 command (multiple unit and house codes) when it receiver any IR command. It learns a IR command and then you associate it with any X10 command. It can learn up to 27 IR commands with associated X10.
I think it is cool, and is much smaller and better looking than the IR543.
