Having lived with my HK TC1000 for a year, I resisted going to the Pronto because I pretty much decided that I don't like LCD based remotes. I really hate using lcd buttons for something like the cursor controls. Then I see this remote! How powerful is the IR on this baby? I'm looking for something that does NOT have to be pointed right at the equipment. Also, how bright is the LCD screen? The screen on my TC1000 is not too bright..... Thanks. SJ

The backlight on the T2 is fantastic -- for both hard buttons and the LCD screen. The LCD screen is backlit with a paper-white electrolumanescent panel, while the LCD itself shows up as a bright blue color. Contrast is great, even under direct lighting. The only flaw is that the screen is quite limited to what it can display since it is only 2 colors and has a resolution of 64x128 pixels.
IR width and range is great. Equal to that of the Pronto.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to find TC-1000 software on the Internet?
