I acquired this receiver from a job years ago and am just now getting around to the setup procedure.

I have the receiver's monitor output on my TV and when I press System Setup on the factory remote control (confirmed by looking at the picture in the owner's manual) I am able to see the System Setup menu - starting with [Speaker Setting].

At this point, I'm unable to do anything with the remote control or the buttons on the front panel to make ANY changes to what I'm seeing on screen. I can't even press System Setup again to exit out of this screen as the manual instructs. It does time out in about 2 minutes and returns to a blue screen though.

Looking for any suggestions. Is there some sort of factory reset? Otherwise, the unit has been working fine for me. I just need to get in there to assign TosLink 4 to the TV input.

TIA!

Almosts sounds like some used the key/panel lock function if there was one for the VSX-24.
Do you have the manual? Try a search at pioneerelectronics for that model and maybe it will come up. If not PM me and I may have the pdf.

I have the manual. That's why I said "I can't even press System Setup again to exit out of this screen as the manual instructs."

No reset procedure that we can find for that model.
Have you tried unplugging for a few minutes and trying again? Just a suggestion though we're shooting in the dark here.
Maybe the remote has some bad buttons or isn't functioning properly. Do you have a programmable remote you can try?
