Trying to setup a Denon 4310 CI using zones 1(main) & 2.

Main zone being a Home theater room 5.1
Zone two being a family room with stereo and a smaller HDTV.

My question is can the #2 HDMI (monitor out) be programmed to follow zone 2 ?
Right now it only follows whatever the main zone is selected to.

So if I did component I wouldn't need the main zone on for anything if only zone 2 was needed ?
Do I need to run component from DVD and Dish along with HDMI to receiver and than out to TV (zone 2) ?

Yes, the Zone 2 can run independently of Zone 1.

You can only pass through the video to Zone 2, meaning the Denon will not "down-convert" HDMI to component video. So you need to have component from your devices to your receiver for it to flow to Zone 2.

I'm glad you reiterated what AZ1 already said back in April, when the post was originally made.
"You can't fix stupid."

Seems Z2 on a 4310 can only do composite video out (so no HD), not component video out? Or I missed a setting?
The next version of my control software will be so great, it will control the world! Or maybe not, in that case wait for the update which should come really soon.

I only see Composite for Z2, that would be a yellow one.
