Ok - I have in-ceiling speakers in my living room (3 - dual zone) and back covered porch (2 - dual zone) and was told I should buy a speaker selector box. Alright, I've looked at 1,000's and still have no idea what/which to buy.
Should I get one with 4 or 6 zones with or without volume control? All I want to do is have surround sound capability in the living room and when I'm on the back porch be able to listen to the radio or the game, etc. while outside. Nothing major or special about my needs. Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks! -Chris

Where are the 3 in the living room located in reference to the TV? How far apart are the outside speakers located from each other? Do they cover different parts of the yard? Or, are they installed to work together to get stereo? If so then they probably aren't dual zones, just a single zone, same with the living room.
For installs like yours, which we do every week, use a mid-high end AVR receiver with zone 2 capabilities. Hook the three in-ceilings to the appropriate inputs on the receiver, then hook up the outside ones to the zone 2 outputs.
