I have 2 Denon AVR 2106's. Currently only one is hooked up. Sometimes via IR commands it would totally lock up, and Id have to press the hard power button to get it to work again, Sometimes it would cause it to loose all settings.

I currently have it hooked up Via 232 from my Crestron AADS system. It locks up more often this way, and I think Ive figured out that the logic assigned to the button on my touch panel that is mostly the issue causing it is the 232 command MZ input: CDR

Well, I got fed up with it, and installed my 2nd unit thinking perhaps is faulty. But the 2nd unit does it as well. I tried contacting Denon about it, but they were no help, as my company isn't an installer for Denon. Does anybody have any idea's?

It really sucks that I cant calibrate my room because my settings reset frequently. it also sucks that I have to run to my basement A/V rack to kill and restore power every time this happens.

Does this occur only with the command sending main zone to input = CDR? Workaround could be to place that device on another empty input and issue that command if it doesn't lock it up. Why it's doing it for CDR I am not sure, the 06 models were frequently buggy for us in other regards but I never heard of a single 232 command locking one up. Where are you getting the CDR command from? System Builder?

Yes System Builder. but the odd thing is that even when I used to go IR, before my Crestron System, it would lock up at what would seem to be random.

I thought my issue was isolated. but I have a client with a 3803 using IR through a HomeLogic/RTI system, and using MZ: DVD input only, and once in a while it locks up in the same fashion.
