Hello,

Im hoping to get some help finding the perfect remote for my home theater. my setup is as follows:

Monitor: Hyundai E425D
DVD: Samsung DVD-1080P7
Cable Box: Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250HD
Stereo: Aiwa CX-NA111 or Sony HCD-MC1
Receiver: Denon AVR-788

I havent been able to find a remote that would work with my E425D, so thats where I need the most help. The stereos are pretty old and Im not sure they can be controlled with other remotes, so Ill understand if I have to use the original remotes for them. The DVD player, cable box, and receiver shouldnt be difficult.

Ideally, the remote would offer more than just the basic functionality for each component and allow me to go to advanced menu settings. If thats too tall an order, Ill settle for basic functionality across all components.

Thanks for the help.

Any learning remote will be able to learn the commands from your original remotes and let you use the universal to control them.

ultimate remote

IMHO the RTI T2c w/RP6 for your application

might not meet your budget

then mx-900 w/mrf260 for the budget conscious

The ultimate remote has to be a hot blonde in a skimpy outfit. She will of course have to respond to my voice commands and never bend at the knees when reaching for the devices located at the bottom of my rack.

Do you just want the best, regardless of price, or do you want the best for your budget?

If so, whats your budget?

Do you want to attempt to program it yourself, or do you plan to save some money and just pay a professional once to do it right?

hey, thanks for all the responses. i havent been getting emails about the messages my post has been getting, so i havent signed back in for a while. therefore, not trolling.

im a bit of a newb to home theaters and remotes, so im not sure how it works.

OTAHD,
wouldnt i need to know the remote codes for my tv in order to program the universal remote? ill look into learning remotes..

oex,
ill look into those options to see what they offer.

sofa king CI,
are you saying that programming a remote is so complicated that i would save money (time?) by just having a pro do it? do you mind pointing me toward a tutorial site so that i can see whats involved?

i dont have a budget yet as i wasnt sure whats available.
