I have an MX-950 and an MX-900, and on both of them 'some' of the remote codes work, like Pictures / Music / Video / Start will all take me to the appropriate location within MCE, so I know the iR is working properly, but directional buttons, enter button, etc does not do anything. I am using an RF repeater but even when I aim directly at the iR receiver I get nothing on those commands. Obviously I can't use media center at ALL without directional navigation!?!?

Any tips or hints is appreciated. I am using the Live Update enabled Universal Remote editors and have tried all of the AUX / Microsoft / Media Center codesets without any love :(

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The problem you are experiencing is because Microsoft used toggle codes for every command on the Media Center remote.  This means that for every button press on the Media Center remote, it sends two commands.  You may need to have a professional program your remote for you, or contact URC yourself to see if they can send you the file that has the toggle codes for Media Center.

Well, even with toggle bits I would expect the directions to work at least *once*... and if he's using database codes, which sounds like he is, those do replicate the toggle bits.

Yep, I wish it was that easy.  I spent a whole day working with a Windows Media Center remote issue before I called RTI.  I thought it was a malfunctioning Media Center Remote, but it was the toggle codes.  I called RTI and they sent me the correct codes, and a faq on how to program them into the remote software.

Well I ended up using someone else's Pronto codeset and then taught the codes to the MX950 from the Pronto. I'm glad I keep that old thing around, especially since the URC doesn't accept hex. I tried the debounce reg key first with no help.

Thanks!

URC does accept hex codes. It's in the MX editor in the universal browswer tab.

I have a Pronto Neo and want it to control Vista Media Center. I changed the "debounce" setting in the registry and was able to grab some hex codes from another forum here... While the codes I have programmed work okay, each button press sometimes ends up being doubled, causing the an extra "up or down" scroll or "enter" command. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to tweak this or does anyone have any better hex codes to share?

Thanks,

Cory
