I bought the Sony str-k660p about 18 months ago b/c it was inexpensive and had dts, and PL2 features and I was tired of listening to things in 2-channel freq. Well this system sucks more than I can imagine. I currently have it set up with a Bose indoor/outdoor speaker as the center channel and two nice Teac speakers as the front speakers. I'm only using the sattellite speakers for the 2 surround channels and the subwoofer from the original system. This nutty configuration blows the original satellite speakers away. My question is this: within the next few months I wan to buy a surround system that costs no more than $500, and preferably closer to $400(just graduated from college). I would like to buy a sattellite speakers system, but my last purchase has left a sour taste in my mouth. Should I buy just a reciever and a true center channel or what??????

Many people rave about the Onkyo 770 system in this price class.
