Need some assistance....
I'm having problems setting up my Paradigm subwoofer (PS-1000) with my Denon AVR3803 receiver.
It says just to take the connector jack and put it in the back of the receiver where it says 'subwoofer'. Doesn't seem to work... There are also slots in the back of the subwoofer for the surround speakers. Do I connect these back in the receiver?
I currently have Paradigm Studio 40's fronts, rears and a CC.
Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance!

Don't use the 'speaker' jacks. On the Denon, make sure you have the RCA cable plugged into the 'sub out' not the 5.1 'sub in'. Plug the other end into the Paradigm input. Make sure the sub is powered on.
On the Denon, you may have to go into the menu and turn the sub 'on'.

Also, you may want to choose between which crossover you want to use....the Subwoofer's or the Receiver's.
If it's the subwoofer's, select the highest Hz on the Denon.
If it's the Receiver's, select the highest HZ on the Subwoofer.

The main thing you have to do is to go into the set up Menu and select Small for the speakers, otherwise no LFE will be sent to the sub. Iain

The .1 LFE would still be sent to the sub.

I think you should make sure the sub is operating first with the cable you have choosen, Just put your thumb over the end of the cable and plug it into the sub only, if it makes a bump noise when you tap the end over and over, then you know the cable and sub works, then the rest of your issue is in the setup of the amplifier.

Very familiar with both units...use crossover in 3805, turn PS1000 crossover wide open(150hz).. fire away. With 40's in front, seriously consider trading the 1000 up to the PW2100 or 2200...you will be happy. tjg
