"However, I'm curious how you handle this? Do you just remove the movie from the slot and take it to another room or do you have some sort of distributed system?"

I am a little confused by the question. Do you mean what would I do if I wanted to watch a movie in another room other than my home theatre where the projector is located? Currently I only have the projector which is located in my home theatre. All video sources output to the projector via one component video to vga cable. All my equipment (minus the projector and speakers of course) is located in a closet in another room which happens to be on the other side of the wall my projector screen is on.

If I wanted to have access to movies in other areas of my home while leaving them in the changers I would yes, purchase additional hardware as to distribute both the audio and video to other areas of my home. Otherwise I would have to take a particular DVD out of a given changer and take it to the room I wanted to watch it in using that rooms DVD player and display.

For control via my TSU7000 I currently use both RF and IR. I have an IR receiver coming through the wall above my projector screen which runs IR emitters to all my gear. I only use my RF extender for the projector and IR543 (X10) as I don't have line of sight to my projector, and need X10 control via the remote no matter where in my home I might be. If I was distributing audio and video to other rooms I would simply move the rest of my gear over to the RF extender as well.

Lowpro,

I currently use a Marantz RC9200 and SNL to control my system, which presently consists of two Pioneer DV-F727s and a Sony something something 860. The SLN is fed data from DVD Profiler. What I really miss is the ability to browse my discs by cover, now having only titles. When you have several hundred discs you tend to forget a lot of titles (at least my teflon brain does), but having images would help.

So, how have you solved this issue Lowpro, do you manually make a button for each disc, or do you have some software do this for you?

Also, could you tell me a little about the TSU7000? I'll try to read up on it on this site, but info someone with the same type of set-up and preferences as myself would be very helpful!

The process is a manual one so as you can imagine it took several days for me to work up my initial configuration file as I had 885 individual DVD discs at the time in my collection.

The manual process of updating my configuration file since then has been no big deal. It only takes a couple minutes to jog a letters worth of DVD covers down to make room for a new DVD cover image button. I enjoy the manual process, so to automate the process in anyway would be spoiling my fun! :-)

I'd be more than happy to spend some time talking with you about this offline. Email me here, cds1834@comcast.net if you like and perhaps we can set something up. Also, check out this thread if you have not prior to now. You may find some of the info there useful with regards to all of this.
