I installed a 50 inch philips plasma today and when I turned on the the dvd player I get these scrolling lines from bottom to top that you dont really notice until you see a black screen. Does anyone know of anything that can cause this? Another thing is on the comcast cable I get a solid thin blue line that runs horizontally across the bottom of the screen. I didnt get a chance to troubleshoot that well but will going back later in the week. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! The dvd player is a toshiba sd5980 and its the hd dct6200 cable box.

Thanks for the link. The scrolling lines were caused by the coax feeding the cable box. I guess it was on a different ground plane from the electrical. I hate to say it, but a monster powerbar corrected the problem. When I plugged the coax into the powerbar it linked the ground of the two together eliminating the ground loop. The thin blue line wasnt from the coax though and in all honesty Im not sure how I fixed it but when I reset the cable box it went away. So Im assuming the problem was in the box itself. Thanks again you all are great!

I hate to say it, but you could have gotten the same effect from a piece of wire.

Yeah, well they already had the powerbar. I figured the first time that it wouldnt matter, but to my suprize it does serve a purpose! Aesthetically it looks better than a piece of wire too.
