I bought the RX-Z9 shortly after they came out. I had been waiting for a receiver that had more than two component video inputs. I am very satified with the purchase.

Why spend $4,000+ on a reciever? I, even being a Yamaha dealer, would switch gears if I were you.
Yamaha is releasing a new reciever, the RX-V4600 shortly. I has (2) HDMI inputs, (3) component inputs, HD radio and some other goodies. Retails at $1,699. If you found you needed more power you could take the balance and buy a seperate amp/s.
What else is in your budget?????

Pleeeezzze, reconsider..I've been an a/v dealer for >30 years...look into seperate pre/pro and power amp..my choice would be Anthem and Rotel ...you'll be much happier in the long run...btw Anthem will have upgrade path for HDMI in future ask your dealer TJG
