I would like to be able to use to control volume from reviever from outside. Do I need a booster or seperate station that would then relay signal? I hope that this isn't a stupid question but I have no idea. Also does anyone have the code for a Motorola Broadband media center?

Try a remote with built-in RF. I haven't tried, but it's probably difficult to use IR outside.
