Isn't Saphire that hot brunette at the Foxy Lady in New Bedford? :)

Couldn't resist.
I've never heard of them.

Be sure and check out Definative and Paradigm before you commit to Polk (not that Polk is bad). They're both extremely 'musical', for lack of a better terminoligy.

We all have a different perception on sound, but, I've got a 'critical' ear, and they both sound incredible!!

I've never actually 'heard' Saphire speakers before, so I can't judge them.

But you can check 'Saphire' out on the weekend, if you want!

Sapphire is tweeter's house brand but that does not mean they are bad speakers. They are more efficient than the Polk's, but I think they have a tendency to sound a little harsh; they wear my ears out after listening for awhile. I have always prefered a warmer sound to the super crisp souind of Klipsch or Boston Accoustics, but it does boil down to preference. I would not say that Polk is better than Sapphire or vice versa, I just prefer the sound of Polk over the Sapphires.

They sound harsh compared to klipsch. Do they sound like a jack hammer or what. I wouldn't say Bostons and Klipsch's have similar sounds at all. I haven't listened to any of the newer models though. They were ALWAYS way to harsh for me on music.

No, I meant they sound harsh like Klipsch, not harsher than Klipsch, that would be pretty painful. LOL

If Bill Cosby will ever let go of the rights he has to the old "Amos 'n Andy" show, which depicted black people owning property and running business but also occasionally being situation-comedy idiots just like white people back in the 1950s, we will find that Sapphire was The Kingfish's wife.

Oh, yes, it seems that Bill is keeping this series under wraps so he can claim that his show was the first one with black families and relationships on TV....
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Ernie

Are you telling me that 'Sapphire' was around in the 1950's!!

She didn't look a bit over twentyfive!

Man, I KNEW she had plastic surgery!(too 'big' to be natural)

That proves it!

I have to call my friends! I KNEW I was right!!

I've got a nice electric ice pick you could stick in your ears and save a lot of $$. Seriously listen to the Paradigms, any of them, compare to anything BUT listen over an extended period of time...you will be happier in the long run.
