Hi,

I am trying to decide between the Pronto TSU-7000 or MX-3000?
I had my heart set on the 7000, until I saw the MX-3000.
Are they both similar to program/setup?
Are they both easy to set up using discrete codes?
I am after ease of use (other half will need to be able to use easily), as well as 'flash' value to impress mates:)
The MX-3000 seems to have the better set out, and marked hard buttons, as opposed to the Pronto's icon marked hard buttons. My previous remote was a Pronto TSU-2000, so I am familar with Prontoedit, but willing to learn new computer interface if required?
What do you guys think?, highly value your opinions. Pros' and con's?
Thanks heaps,

Paul

I made the same decision a few months ago and after careful deliberation went with the MX3000. I don't pretend to know as much as some of the others on these boards but here are some quick observations:
* More WOW! power. I think the MX looks nicer than the Pronto due to its layout. A widescreen remote looks so state-of-the-art along with a widescreen TV.
* Spouse acceptance - This is going to depend on how well you set it up. I configured my remote to start up with a launch screen that has just a few buttons to launch Activities similar to what the Harmony did
* I think the widescreen format does make more sense for a touchscreen but 2 hands are almost always required. The Pronto is large enough where 2 hands helps so I did not see this as a major drawback.
* I would have liked it if the MX3000 had a few hard buttons that were not labelled. I use Tivo and its nice to have FF & Play on Hard buttons for quick access while skipping commercials. I reprogrammed other keys to do this but 2 "blanks" would have been nice

Hi,
Thanks heaps. I am leaning towards the MX-3000 as well. (put me off that it didn't appear to have a clock and date on main screen, but just found out you can easily do this).
Would love to see your setup, Is it listed on the site? Or would you email?
Thanks heaps once again, highly value opinion of everyone on here?
Hopefully few more people will reply and give their's as well.

I plan on writing a bit of a review on the MX3000 and will post the layout on my site when that is ready. I'll be sure to post a message here once that's done...

Hey guys,
Thanks heaps for advice. Will probably go with the MX-3000, as just about everyone seems to prefer it to the TSU-7000. Is it true that you can use most of the TSU-7000 programs with the MX-3000 by converting them? Would love to see everyone's setups, and whats possible with this remote, and hear anymore opinions/advice people might have.

MX3000 has superior RF performance, individual addressable IR, and the new antenna system is variable, and allows remote antenna placement for difficult situations. I think when you enter the league of the Pronto 7000 or the MX3000, you should really be considering which one shines in the all important RF performance area. To me, that's the most important aspect.

Go with the MX-3000. I've had one now for a month and it is very impressive. I also got two MRF-250's. Easy set up. Great instructions. The wife loves it. Enjoy.

MAke sure you buy from an authorized dealer!!! dont buy from the guys that give you lines on how to fudge the warranty. www.Universalremote.com has a section that lists authorized online dealers. there are a few dealers on here as well

www.proremotes.com is one
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
