Hey guys;
I'm looking for some type of IR eye transmitter. I've looked on google but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
Basically, it has a box that you put in plain view that accepts IR commands from remote controls, and it transmits them to all your components. The point being that you can mount your components out of the way so they aren't visible, and the IR eye thing catches the IR commands and sends them to the components.
One having more than 4 inputs is preferred. We currently have a 4 input one, but need an aditional component.

check out xantech.com. I would also recommend finding an experienced custom install co. and be prepared to pay a little for their advise as IR can have potential to cause major headaches if you are unfamiliar with any of it. A little investment in someone experienced will help alot.

Hey there!
Perhaps I am using the wrong terminology? I'm talking about the signals that most every remote sends out? That is IR, right?
The IR eye thing that they have seems very simple, it's just a small box that is hooked to a little unit that has four IR wires coming off of it. When the box detects an IR signal, it sends the IR signal to all four of the IR wires attached to it. That way, only the box has to be exposed to the remote control, and all of the components can see the IR signal because of the four IR wires to it.

Russound also has some good IR equipment. I'm using a SaphIR Eye, with a russound 857 box which has 6 IR emitter outputs.

why not use an rf programmable remote? You should give a little more info w/the original post.
