Hi, I am thinking of purchasing the Yamaha DSP-z9 amp (European near equivalent of US spec receiver RX-z9 I believe) and the Yamaha DPX-1000 DLP projector. As far as I can tell they both have Faroudja video enhancement hardware/software built in. I have three question in that respect:
1. Is it a problem that they both have such video enhancement capability? 2. Is it an advantege that they both have such video enhancement capability? 3. Can anyone tell me how much money I might be "wasting" on buying two products with such capabilities if having two offers no advantage? I really want both products if the combination is no problem, but if I end up having to pay USD 500 extra for something with no point I might reconsider.
Thanks for any input

1) No. 2) No. 3) Zero. Unless there is a DSP model with EVERY single spec the same except for the scaler you are spending more $$$ on the Z9 because of far more than Faroudja. Better amp, more features, etc.
Digital all the way to the PJ is the best, which would use mainly the PJ's video circuitry. Video processors before that should be your 2nd choice for hookup methods and probably only used if you have a clearly inferior processor in the PJ.
