Buy it, it's a still.
Don't worry about 240VAC agaist 220VAC, it will work like a charm, the discrapancy is less than 10% no problema.

Perhaps it's me being overly cautious, but one thing I would never do is send a Western Union payment for something "won" on fleabay.

if you want to test the iPronto all you need to do is turn it on, learn the code for one button on the remote and send the code. That will show 999% of what it can do. On the other hand if the screen is not broken then I would doubt that it would not work. The reason that DJY and I said that we would not trust someone that wanted WU is that once the money is sent there is no way for you to get it back and so many scam artists use it as a way to get your money and don't ship anything.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but do you know why anyone would send an ebay message purporting to be the seller of an item (which they were quite obviously not) asking if I would like to pursue the "second chance" option? I had to reply to a supplied AOL email address.

Obviously it was a scam of some kind, but I don't know what.

I got one of those e-mails yesterday also. It was asking me to try a second chance on a Russound SaphIR receiving eye. I had just bid on one from someone else, but it went out of my price range. (more than what I can get them for at Russound). I don't know how the guy got my info, unless he was just watching the previous item, but I didn't like it. I just deleted it. It's funny that they were worded the same way.

Had another one today; for the same item, that sold around 10 days ago. They must think I'm thick.

By the way, have you noticed that Daz has given up on that one from Greece?

Daz you are also foreign to me, I live in Canada :-) honestly I think Scammers are often foreign to where you live, and a possible reason is that I guess it is harder for the police to do anything. So the Greek and Italian scammers go after people in the UK and the UK scammers go after people outside the UK. Also it is harder to tell someone to send you the money by Western Union if they live a bloc away.

May have been one of those "the item is already at the shipper and just needs to be released" type scams. And of course the ever-famous Nigerian "overpayment" scams - one of my hobbies is particularly prone to those, and some folks have taken to stringing the scammers along for weeks, collecting fake cashiers checks, etc.
