Suddenly the buttons don't work. New batteries don't solve the problem.

Even the light that normally shows up, that switches mode from TV/VCR/Cable/DVD when you push button on side of the remote.

NEXT WEIRD OCCURRENCE: After a day of nothing happening, this same light that shows the status between TV/VCR/Cable/DVD started freaking out like a strobe light, stuck in the TV position.

Pushing all sorts of buttons did nothing.

Then, ODDLY, once, the mute button worked, but it never worked again.

What in the world is going on? Is there a way to "reset" the remote? The TV is less than a year old.

If the TV is new, isn't the remote as well? Bring it back to be replaced. It should be guaranteed.

I'm not at home so I can't look at my Samsung remote...

But I think there is a reset button in the battery compartment. Just a small round hole, poke a toothpick in there to push the reset button.

I'm not sure I'm thinking of the right remote, but I think the Samsung has a reset. If all else fails... look at the destructions;-) (instructions)

If that fails, sounds like a call to customer service is the next plan. Yes, stuff does die within the first year.

Good Luck
