I work for an ad agency and am developing a campaign for a custom home theater seller/installer. My question: What are the Top 3 things customers want when considering a home theater purchase? All input appreciated.

Ease of use, total emersion in experience, ??? (inexpensive, maybe)

Value = Quality/Price Want the highest quality for the lowest price.
Usable - Should have a good customer interface that can be used by all houshold members and guests without extensive instruction.
Dependable - Should work all of the time, the same way. No resets, reprogram, etc...

first it would depend on the market he is in and his target for instance if he is going after audiophiles then value is a 0 on the scale of 1-10 while possibility of improvement is an 11
but in general
ease of use: (includes dependable and every day control) people just want point and click of one button, anything else is no good (even if it is only once in a while)
value: this depends on the person like my example above but I will include service in it. Every likes getting pampered before during and after they bought their stuff
custom: if it is a real HT it should be designed to fit the decor and tastes of the person (does he want something plane, something extravagant or something themed) while pushing the stuff that is important to the customer (i.e. is he more audio/video/party....), is it a large or small room.....
on the other hand we are saying what is important as a customer of an HT equipment, as an ad for that company what I would like the most is honesty. If the company has the qualities mentioned then put them in the ad, but if it does cookie cutter stuff then don't say they will buid you that star trek theatre you wanted

Problem is, that there will ALWAYS be some dipstick who will install the spammer products for the dipstick that buys them....
Two dipsticks make for a cluster****......lol

i NEVER do it. i did a few jobs this year where customers were indecision on video. they showed up with 37" sharps from Tweeter. Floor models - no box, missing pieces, etc. I finished the D/A but refused to hang the master bedroom lcd and the living room lcd. They were pissed! I told them I would sell them the sets at $500 over cost. They paid $200 under my cost and thought they could save the bracket money by hanging the sets with screws thru the face HAHAHA. Jokes on them. 3 months later the sets are still in the living room
