Hi,
I just bought, and am extremely happy with, a Denon DVD-2900 universal DVD Audio-Video/SACD player. I've connected it via 6 analogue phonos to my Yamaha DSP-A1 and, upon selecting the Aux Input channel on the amp, I "think" I'm getting excellent multi-channel SACD playback.
However, I read in some SACD blurb that amps with DSP processing (like the Yamaha DSP-A1) can sometimes transfer the analogue signal to digital, then back to analogue for output through the speakers. This has the effect of reducing the output to that of a regular CD.
Is this true with the Yamaha DSP-A1? If so, is there any way I can bypass the DSP process completely and hear pure analogue output?
Thanks very much,
John

if the 2900 is plugged into the multi channel inputs then the signal will not go through any signal processing. if it is plugged into the aux input (in which case it would only be stereo, not multi channel) then it will be processed digitaly, yamahas however usualy have a direct mode if you engage this it will bypass any processing.
