OK Guys I think we should put an end to this non sense.
Midvor, please let us know how many pieces of plastic you have left over in your stoch closet, and we'll buy the entire stock from you. How much do you charge for each piece including taxes ? Do you except Italian money ? Or can we pay you in pesos ? Please advice!!

This is the funniest damn post I've read on this site.

Helps build muscles!! Lay on your back and do bench presses with it! Or arm curls!

Makes a handy weapon to beat down burglars attempting to interrupt your movie!

Sorry, I know I'm way late on this post, but its too damn funny to resist. The saddest part of this is that there very well may be a few mentally unstable/gullible individuals out there who actually send this guy some cash. God Bless America!

And yes, the 'company model' is hot. He can keep his remote 'rack', I'd much rather play with her rack.

My first read also, and here are some problems-->
1--Your idea defeats the purpose of "hand-held", that's the greatest concept, all the control in the palm of your hand, yours is like a keyboard on my lap.
2--You can get a "hand-held" basic universal that's $29. That will control TV, VCR, Stereo, and run on 4 batteries, that will set-up in 10 minutes.
3--The 5 remote deal is like a keyboard on your lap, and 5 remotes are for advanced users...5 remotes with 4 batteries each = 20 batteries, OUCH.
Your target market is dumb, uninformed, consumers who will donate you $20 just to get a package in the mail.
Maybe you've done it, cause they're out there, and there's alot of 'em. I could absolutely see my Mom having this on her coffee table for her 3 remotes, not asking me to get the $29 Radio Shack deal.
She is smokin'!
Read the descriptions on his web page, and they sound alot like Homer Simpson's telemarketing scam voice message, "are sick of being said, are you looking for eternal happiness, send $1 to Happy Dude"
Makes you think how easy it is to get someing to market with the internet...even a stick and some glue.!

I'd love to come over to someone's place who has the 7-remote control "wonder" and rearrange the remotes when he/she isn't looking.

All of the "manual" macros would be out of sync. ;-)Those who buy this sort of thing really don't have "Smart State Technology".

I believe men in white shirts would have to show up, because the owner of the "Control Panel" would have a nervous breakdown.

I can just see the WAF factor.

"This one was here dear!"

"No it wasn't!!! It was here! I know! I'm the one who velcroed the danged thing on here!"

"No dear. You're thinking of the "5-remote" model you purchased before you needed the "7-remote" model, because we bought that Bose setup. And remember how you had to go out and buy another DISH remote control, so that our new "7-remote" Control Panel would balance? You know I'm right, dear."

"No, you're not!!! Now be quiet while I finish weighing these remotes so that the danged thing balances when I pick it up!!!"

"Okay, dear. But, don't say I didn't tell you so! The black remote was second from the left, not the beige one! I know, because I moved it since the whole setup didn't go with the upholstery on the couch!! But, have it your way! I'll just change it when you go to work on Monday!"

"Mutter.... mutter... mutter... dang! The shows already over and I haven't got my configuration setup. Anyway, I'm going to buy another 7-remote "wonder", and a complete set of OEM remotes as a back-up for when she screws with this remote. That'll teach her! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

"Then I'll just stuff the whole thing down into the corner of the couch, and she'll never know I have a backup of the whole configuration!!! HEY! Maybe I AM smart after all!"

Now, really, let's be serious, folks.

I hope he comes out with one that I can put my iPronto in. THEN, I'd buy one for sure!

Think of it! The super-duper fantasmagorical iPronto, along with 6 other remotes, in the out-of-this-world 7-remote wonder! Now that's what I would call a Control Panel!

... Anonymous

P.S. Why does my real name keep showing up when I am posting this anonymously? Hmmmmm.....

And, oh yeah.... I ordered one, and the Control Panel DOES come with RF! When I got finished with it I was so frustrated I threw it and danged if it didn't go through the wall of my trailer just like those fancy RF remotes say they do! DANG!

Not to beat a dead horse here, but this is my first time reading this thread. This is the STUPIDEST thing I've ever seen! Suppose I only have 4 remotes? Do I buy a 5-remote version, and have the "expansion space" to deal with? Do you have a trade-in program where I can upgrade a 3-remote model to a 5-remote model? Do you offer service contracts on this device?

Seriously, I think if I ever walked into someone's home and saw something like this, they would have to pick me up off the floor from laughing so hard. I mean, that thing makes that girl in the photo look stupid. You should apologize to her!

Before I bought my Pronto, I had to deal with the multi-remote issue. I literally had 7 remotes. I was able to consolidate them all down into two, but I still purchased the Pronto because it has macros- I hit one button, it turns the TV, receiver and DVD player on, sets the receiver and TV to the proper input, dims the lights (scene setting- dims the front two lamps to off, dims the side lamp to 10%, dims the back two to 20% all done in a macro), then flips the remote screen to DVD control. How do you handle macros with your setup? Do you make a multi-button presser-doojiggie thing that pushes a button on one remote, a different button on another remote, and other buttons on other remotes? You can build a configurable template arm that allows you to align the button pressers to your liking. You can include a few different ones in case you want to offer multi-macro support. And since this thing is so large, it won't be a problem to add a little more size to it- create a compartment in the back to house the multi-button presser-doojiggie things.

Even still, when I did have all those remotes, I had a basket. My wife is into longaberger baskets, so we had the "remote basket". I see that you strive for cheapness, so you don't have to buy one of those expensive Longabergers, you can get cheaper ones, maybe even a plastic one to keep with your theme, or maybe even a cardboard box? I have never lost a remote control, and I can't see why anyone else would, but whatever... I noticed on your site, you actually took the time to list why a basket is not as good as your invention. That was entertaining. Especially when you describe things like the remotes not fitting into the baskets, as if you can't just get a bigger one...

Actually, I'd like to just address a few of your comments...
- You need both hands to handle all your remotes... your 'rig' is huge, dude. I'm guessing you can lift it with one hand, but would need both hands just to steady it while you hit the buttons.
- 9. Pretty ugly design that also needs to match your room furniture - umm..... ugly design? ring a bell?
- 1. It can be easily lost just like any other remote control -- people tend to show a little more respect for a $300 remote. It won't be easily lost, trust me.
- 2. Takes a long time to program all your remotes into one -- not really.. Customize yes, program no.
- 6. Software imbedded into the remotes could crash any time - WHAT?!?!? This ain't windows, dude.
- 7. Simply cannot replace all the features of the original remotes -- yes I can.

Why is your idea not practical? When I watch a movie, I like to kick back and relax. I sit the remote (be it pronto, or whatever) on the arm of the couch, or somewhere next to me. If I need to actually hit a button (like maybe turn subtitles on, off, or adjust the volume), I like to effortlessly pick something up with a single hand, aim it, press the button, then set it back down. Your "rig" appears cumbersome, and I can't see doing this effortlessly ..it would take sitting up, gaining proper posture, perhaps putting on a weight-lifting belt just in case, lifting this rig using both hands, propping it up so it's in the direction of the equipment. then find the button in the dark (unless it has luminated buttons, in that case, find that button first), then set the remote compilation device down and relax once again. In fact, I can't imagine balancing that thing on anything. You need a large coffee table to set that thing on. Or will you also offer a swing-arm that can be mounted on a chair or sofa?

Yes, a bit ridiculous, but so is this thing. Oh, and did I mention that it looks REALLY FREAKING STUPID?!?!

Enough already... sorry for the long post, but this was just funny..

One last thing.. I was thinking about the photo of the girl holding the 'rig' with one hand. How, exactly do you do that if you need to use the remote all the way to the left? Do you have a shoulder harness, or maybe a frame you can put over your neck like when you carry a small child?

johnneeukca: you just gave me the perfect idea

1) get 2x4 and built remote holder
2) get 2 hooks and screw them at each end
3) get a piece of rope or chain and hook them
to the holder
4) hang remote holder around neck
now you never need to pick up any remote any more

People, I got a problem! I got a competitor. I guess most people just like to BS a lot, but some take a note and jump into business ... Oh well, I guess it is not going to be just me making money of this thread ... By the way thank you for the publicity, after all there is no other thread on this portal that has such a huge rating .... as mine ....

The one with the handle is better, that way your customers don't push the 'wrong' button by simply picking up the, ummmm...thing, and then can't figure out what happened because they weren't taught what the remotes do, just the sequence of button presses.

With a more intelligent remote, the person dosen't have to think, just press what they want to watch and the remote does all the work. While I agree it does make losing the remote very difficult, it dosen't really solve the confusion factor of multiple remotes. So, I really don't see it's benefit to mankind...

Hey, mdvor.... Don't worry about the competition. You have the hot babe, they just have a hand. Besides, you can just release this one...

And maybe you can corner the market on this one...

Just think of the possibilities! haha
(obviously I'm just playing. Please don't sue me for altering your artwork.) :-)

Actually, if you look at your product vs. your competitor's, you have the odd numbers, and he has the even numbers. You should form a partnership or something.
