I'm in the market for an autodetecting digital audio/s-video AV switch. The 1155 from Audio Authority looks like just the thing. Unfortunately, everybody's out of stock except the full price guys at smarthome.com. Are there any {good} alternatives? I haven't run across much in the way of digital audio autoswitches, much less with s-video too.

Just for the record, smarthome.com is advertising them at $170 while copperbox.com is at $150 and yourdigitalhome.com is at $125. Copperbox is out of stock and yourdigitalhome.com is (according to sales@ email) revamping their site and not taking orders.

Just to add to my original post....

I've used the Sima 4 source auto switch for a couple years now and have been very happy with it. The product page at SimaCorp mentions a new model with digital audio that should be available 'this spring'. Anybody have any info on that?

The Radio Shack deal looks pretty good, but you can't order it online. :( My local store doesn't have it either and says no one in our 'district' does!

And I already ordered some toslink cables for it.

Sheesh.

Looks like it's in stock at copperbox. According to the mfgr website, digitalhome may not be selling the 1155 anymore.

I've been looking to purchase the Sima SVS-4 for my system for a while and read some good reviews, but some users have noticed some brightness artifacts with the s-video conections.

Question for Jay Lyerly, have you experenced any bad picture quality with the Sima unit?

Thanks

The Sima has performed excellently. Just be sure not to connect composite and s-video from a single source (as outlined in the manual).

Does any one know where I can find the SVS-4 in Canada? I'm having a hard time locating this video switcher.

Thanks

Re ordering in Canada
If it's still available (Sima are replacing it with a model that switches digital audio as well) just do a Google search on "sima svs-4" and check the shipping policies of the online merchants you get. I think I bought mine from Camera World.
Have you looked at the RCA unit?
