I currently have the following equipment and would like some recommendations for an RF remote.

Sony VCR
RCA DVD
Phillips Tivo


I also have a Bose LifeStyle 50 that has its own RF remote that works great! However I would give it up if I could just have one RF remote.

There really aren't any RF remotes on the market, and even if there were none of your equipment (other than the Bose) can accept RF.

Do you mean a remote with the capability to transmit RF to a box which converts to IR and then sends to your equipment? If so, choose the ProntoPro TSU-6000, under $800 including the RF accessory.

A much cheaper alternative is a remote like the MX-500, which only uses standard IR, but then purchase the X10.com Powermids which consists of two pyramid looking things a few inches high. Aim the remote at one pyramid, and put the other in front of your equipment. The pyramid sends the signal via RF to the other, which converts it to IR and sends it on to your equipment.

Your better bet is the Denon RC8000 with the RF docking station

There is also the Marantz RC5200 and 9200 that can do RF to a base.

But if you decide to go with extenders then you can use any remote you want. Also there are wired extenders, they tend to be a bit more expensive, and messy to put in, but they generally tend to work better
