OK I've been reading this stuff and finally have decided to weigh in. Here's my stuff:

Mitsubishi HD1080 80" Rear Projection HDTV
2 Mitsubishi HSU760 VCR's
Pioneer DV F07 301 Disk DVD CD Player
Marantz SR9200 (brand new)
Hughes Sat TV Receiver
Definitive BP2002 Main speakers
Definitive Bipolar surrounds and center channel
Radio Shack interconnects (gold)
10 gauge stranded speaker wire from Home Depot soldered to expanding gold banana plug connections (again Radio Shack)
Technics Turn Table & Shure cartridge & Radio Shack RIAA Amp

I can't find and difference in performance using high priced interconnects and speaker wires. And I still listen to a few old vinyl records. These old records are interesting when passed through all of this new high tech stuff. I need to digitize them and see how they sound in CD format.

hello, i'm new so, here's my "tiny" system:

TV: philips 32PW9525 (best TV on the market, in europe, never seen a CRT/beamer of whatever else, that has this quality) It's a widescreen TV.

Preamp: sphinx project 4mk11
poweramp: electrocompaniet DMB100
cdplayer: duson CD100
DVplayer: philips CD710
AVamp: modified, pre-outs for the frontchannels, through the pre to poweramp.
its also a philips fr986.
kabels: siltech/gronenberg/transparent.
speakers: front: magnepan 1.5/se/sq
rear: sigmat type A4
center: no need for that
sub: would come in handy, don't own one yet (sonus faber gravis is on my list)
remote: philips ru890

thats it. system sounds delicate, but goes loud if it has to.

marcel, the netherlands
